A sample of our schedule for 2017:
Monday-Basket Weaving, why didn’t the pioneers just buy a basket? How were they used?
#After lunch We are off to the Races (after you groom your horse.)
Tuesday- Music-We will learn a song about Sam Houston (written by our teacher) sing some songs of the period and then Video tape our selves singing the Sam Song. (you will receive a DVD of your performance the next day)
#After lunch we will be having a Nature Scavenger Hunt on our historic grounds.
**Tomorrow everyone is asked to bring 2 boxes of Mac and Cheese or a Box of Oatmeal for Second Harvest – This is our outreach program.
Wednesday-Second Harvest-Our speaker will tell us about the Food for Kids program. We may get “Chopped” today.
#After lunch we will prepare eggs to make our own geodes. We will see how a rock can grow a crystal inside. Maybe we will have a little more science magic.
Thursday- Robotics – Robot hand, Color pages, Robot Blocks, Marshmallow Robot
#After lunch we will pour the solution in our eggs. Then we will break some real geodes.
Friday-Water Safety by the Coast Guard – Our speaker will teach us about boating safety and bring us a coloring book. He has his own ROBOT!
#After lunch we will build our own sail boats and then have a Rain Gutter Regatta

**This is NOT a drop off camp. Parents MUST stay with their children. We think you will have as good a time as your children. Our classes and demonstrations will be limited to 30 students. All activities are planned for ages – rising Kindergarten to rising 6th grade.

Sam Houston Day Camp 2017- June 26 Monday -30 Friday 10am to 2pm We are a small camp that provides age appropriate activities and crafts. This requires a camper stay within their age group to allow the staff to provide each student with the most enriching experience. Camp is limited to 30 campers. We are not prepared to work with children under five years of age, because of the size of our volunteer staff. Cost of the Camp is $30.00 per student and $3.00/Day for parents in advance. If you have 4 Children the price is $25.00 per child. Bring a sack lunch daily for the camper and parents attending. We have refrigeration. You can picnic on our lovely grounds. We are NOT a drop-off camp. Parents must stay with their children throughout the day. We are sure that you will enjoy the camp as much as your camper.
